After riding the national media attention from capturing and killing the notorious serial killer “The Eye” and in the process uncovering political corruption in the City of San Diego, our favorite flawed hero Tate Holloway is back. He may have been dumped by his girlfriend, Nicole, after the national media found out about his embarrassing, extracurricular activities as a male escort but, in true Tate fashion, all he wants to do is get back to work as a private investigator with his trusted sidekick, Rita. As he attempts to get his life back in order, he lounges on the beaches of Costa Rica, nurses his breakup sorrow by surfing, and continues his escort activities. An unexpected phone call from one of his “regulars,” Bonnie, thrusts him into a missing person’s case. Her nephew, who was interning at her law firm for the summer, has disappeared, and she fears foul play. And Bonnie isn’t just any attorney. Her law firm represents and handles high-level security clearance matters between the Defense Department and civilian defense contractors. She needs help and can only think of one man — Tate.
In his hunt for Bonnie’s nephew, Tate investigates the possible reason for the young man’s abduction, and in the process uncovers a potential national security threat with ties all the way to North Africa. Tate becomes alarmed when he realizes this situation is ignored by the State Department and could potentially implicate the White House. Once again his pursuit for justice unnerves the wrong people, and Tate has to step up his game to elude agents from the various federal agencies who have put out an APB for his capture and evade the nefarious groups and organizations that have put a bounty on his head.
